International Cramér Symposium on Insurance Mathematics

First Announcement

The International Cramér Symposium on Insurance Mathematics (ICSIM 2013) will take place in Stockholm, Sweden in the period June 11 - 14, 2013.
Participation in the symposium is open to researchers, students, practitioners in business and industry and other specialists from all countries.
The symposium is organised by the Department of Mathematics (Institute of Insurance Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at Stockholm University in cooperation with the Scandinavian Actuarial Journal.

Topics The programme covers the following topics:
  • Modern risk theory and its applications
  • Stochastic modeling of insurance business in the Solvency II framework
  • Modern mathematical problems in non-life insurance
  • New mathematical problems in life insurance
  • Mathematical background for new products in insurance and reinsurance
  • Actuarial statistics and actuarial software
  • Modern trends in actuarial education
  • History and future prospective of insurance mathematics
The programme will consist of invited lectures (45 minutes), communications (20 minutes). Invited lectures will be given by leading specialists in the areas related to insurance mathematics. The working language is English.

Abstracts and registration Abstracts of invited lectures and communications will be distributed to participants upon arrival at the School.
The form for a registration and submission of abstracts can be obtained from the website of the symposium, which address is given below. The deadline is 30 April, 2013.

The registration fee is 4000 SEK for academics and non-academic participants; 1500 SEK for graduate and postgraduate students; 1000 SEK for accompany persons (1 Euro is approximately 9 SEK, and 1 USD is approximately 7 SEK)

Proceedings

Proceedings are planned to be published after the symposium as a special issue of the Scandinavian Actuarial Journal. A LaTex file and one paper copy of a paper may be submitted to the Organising Committee (Dmitrii Silvestrov, chairman) upon arrival to the symposium, i.e. on 11-14 June, 2013.

The location

The venue for the School will be the Stockholm University (Kräftriket campus, Houses 3, 5 and 6)

The social programme

It will include a welcome reception, excursions and a conference dinner.

Accommodation

It will be available on different price levels. The detailed information about scientific programme, accommodation, social programme and ways to pay the conference fee will be included in the Second Announcement. It will be available before 1 November, 2008 at the web-page of the symposium.
