Board
SFG is run by a board chaired by docent Gudrun Brattström , with prof. Rolf Sundberg as vice-chairman.
Jan-Olov Persson is administrative leader of SFG.
Orders
SFG gladly accepts major and minor orders within all fields of statistics. Most of our contracts are to do with planning and analysis of (scientific) investigations and experiments. We do not do data collecting, interviewing et cetera.
SFG accepts assignments within all areas of statistics, like biostatistics (clinical trials, epidemiology), chemometrics, public statistics (e.g survey sampling) and industrial statistics (e.g quality control). In terms of statistical methodology, assignments can involve for example linear regression, logistic regression, analysis of variance, analysis of contingency tables, planning of experiments, sampling, multivariate analysis or survival data analysis.
Major contracts in recent years include:
- Analysis of road quality measurements and planning of sampling for traffic flow statistics, for The Swedish National Road Authority (Vägverket)
- Statistical analysis of corrosion data on cars, for The Swedish Corrosion Institute.
- Probabilistic and statistical analysis of damping when splicing optical fibres (Ericsson).
- Design of quality control (Sandvik-Coromant).
- Analysis of connections between oil impurity and breakdown risk for military vehicles, for The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
Master's theses
An important aim for SFG is to let students take part in the work, for example by writing their Master's theses in connection a major assignment of ours. Participation in the consultancy (under senior guidance, of course) gives them valuable introduction to their future professional activity.
Rates
For minor orders, we charge per hour in accordance with a fixed tariff. For major orders, and for courses, prices are subject to negotiation.
